From April 29 to May 12, 2024, Russians significantly increased their visits to restaurants, entertainment events, taxi rides, and payments for educational courses and hotels compared to the previous year, according to a study by Yoomoney and IT company Evotor, reported by Gazeta.Ru.

Dining Out

Fast food outlets saw a 3.5-fold increase in turnover, with the number of purchases tripling and the number of visitors doubling. The average check rose by 19% to 1,338 rubles. Restaurant turnovers increased 2.5 times, with payment transactions more than tripling, visitors doubling, and the average check reaching 2,290 rubles.

Purchases at confectioneries grew by 21%, with revenue increasing by 47% and the average check rising by 22% to 555 rubles. Payments for takeaway coffee increased by 16%, with coffee shop revenues up by 32% and the average check rising by 14% to 315 rubles. Street food kiosk revenue grew by 29%, with purchases up by 10% and the average check increasing by 18% to 422 rubles.

Transportation

Expenditures on taxis increased sixfold, with the number of payments quadrupling and the number of payers tripling. The average check rose by 46% to 247 rubles.

Entertainment and Leisure

There was a notable rise in demand for theaters and photoshoots. Online payments for theater tickets increased by 47%, the number of purchases by 38%, and the average check reached 2,138 rubles. Payments for renting photo studios doubled, the number of photoshoot purchases grew by 42%, and the average check rose by 42% to 2,101 rubles.

Spa salon revenue increased by 65%, with the average check up by 12% to 5,058 rubles. Beauty salon visits grew by 18%, with revenue up by 36% and the average check rising by 15% to 2,577 rubles. Turnovers for sports and fitness centers increased by 25%, with the average check rising by 18% to 1,927 rubles.

Travel and Accommodation

Russians were also more active in booking hotels and tours. Non-chain hotel revenue grew by 23%, with the average number of bookings up by 18% and the average check increasing by 5% to 5,746 rubles. Travel agency turnovers grew by 17%, with the average tour price rising by 9% to 87,236 rubles.

Education

There was a significant increase in payments for educational services. Online payments for university education grew elevenfold, and for courses and professional training, they increased sixfold. The average check for university education was 12,116 rubles, up by 12%, and for courses and training, it was 4,856 rubles, up by 14%.
