Medialogia has published the results of the cutest study.
Medialogia, a Russian company that develops an automatic monitoring and analysis system for media and social networks, has published a rating of the most popular cats in the news for the entire year 2023. Interestingly, three winners from the all-Russian top 10 reside in St. Petersburg.
The leader in popularity in Russia was a cat named Pashka, who became known for his nightly wanderings in the Hermitage, triggering the museum’s alarm system. Before he was caught, the disturber of cultural peace hid in the museum halls for two months.
The silver went to a cat named Kotik, who escaped from his carrier in the luggage compartment at Vnukovo and, fortunately, was found on the airport premises.
The third place went to a heroic fighter against excess weight. In Vologda, the emergency rescue service suspended the work of a cat named Belyash because he gained extra weight but reinstated him after the cat lost two kilograms following a two-week diet.
In fourth place was a St. Petersburg kitten-manul named Shu (we wrote about him earlier). He gained popularity thanks to his amusing growling. Additionally, Shu became the first manul born in the Leningrad Zoo since 2007.
Eighth place was taken by a kitten named Ugolek, rescued from a fire in Pargolovo, St. Petersburg. A photo of the black kitten with singed fur went viral. After the incident, Ugolek found a new home with one of the Emergencies Ministry employees.
Congratulations to the winners!
