Krasnodar Airport officially resumed operations on 11 September, more than three years after it was shut down in February 2022 due to security concerns.

During the downtime, the airport maintained a full staff and ensured both terminals remained ready to operate. In the summer of 2024, the airport underwent renovations, including upgrades to the forecourt, terminal facades, and parking areas. The reopening is expected to improve access to popular resorts along the Azov and Black Seas.

The first flight to the airport will be operated by Aeroflot from Moscow on 17 September. Regular routes to Krasnodar will follow from St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Kazan, and Novosibirsk.

S7 Airlines has also announced plans to resume flights to Krasnodar, with the launch date pending regulatory approval.
