Almost 61% of Russians cannot imagine their life without a smartphone, while 75% experience digital fatigue, according to a survey conducted by the financial marketplace “Vyberu.ru.”
The survey also revealed that 39% of respondents practice digital detox during their free time from work. One in five respondents reported feeling irritated by the constant use of their phones, and about the same number of participants said they are annoyed by the low quality of content. Approximately 34% of respondents complain about constant work-related calls and advertising. Nearly 13% of participants said they are forced to adapt to new digital solutions.
Russians who took part in the survey shared how they cope with digital fatigue. More than 27% try to spend as much time as possible with family or friends. Almost 18% go on a trip to disconnect. Around 17% try to replace virtual communication with real-life interactions. Thirteen percent of respondents occasionally turn off their phones to take a break from them, while the same number go for walks alone. Exercise and reading books help 8% and 4% of respondents cope with digital fatigue, respectively.
The survey involved 2,500 Russians aged 18 to 60 from different regions of Russia.
