Yamalo-Nenets, Khanty-Mansi and Magadan top the list; Tuva and Ingushetia rank lowest

A new report has ranked Russia’s regions by average household wealth, with the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi autonomous areas, as well as Magadan Oblast, leading the list.

Other high-ranking regions include Chukotka, the Nenets Autonomous Area, Sakhalin, Murmansk Oblast, Saint Petersburg, the Moscow Region, and Moscow itself. Experts noted that residents in these areas generally enjoy sufficient income to offset higher living costs and maintain strong housing affordability—though major urban centres such as Moscow and St Petersburg continue to struggle with property accessibility due to soaring prices.

At the other end of the spectrum, regions with the lowest incomes include North Ossetia–Alania, Kabardino-Balkaria, Dagestan, Crimea, Altai, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, Tuva, and Ingushetia.
