Why Did the Moscow Delegation Fly to the UAE?
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he held talks with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with Vladimir Putin noting the UAE is Moscow’s main trading partner in the Arab world.
Also, a large Moscow delegation flew to the Emirates. On behalf of who was took part in it and what were the Russians doing in the UAE, exclusively for GORUS, the President of the Association of Socially Oriented Non-Profit Organizations and a member of the Public Chamber of Moscow, Sergey Ladochkin, shared the details.
From December 4th to 9th, the 44th International Construction Exhibition The Big 5 UAE 2023 is taking place in Dubai. Among the participants is a delegation from the Government of Moscow, which includes representatives from the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations, the urban policy and construction complex, Mosinzhproekt JSC, the Moscow Urban Forum Autonomous Non-Profit Organization, the Moscow Center for International Cooperation ANO, Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye JSC, and Pioneer GC JSC.
“The Moscow stand is one of the most innovative and modern. The government of Moscow presents about 20 projects in the fields of construction, sports, science, education, and healthcare on a 180 sq. m. stand. Participants highly appreciated the Moscow stand! Everywhere, in the context of mentioning our capital, epithets like ‘smart,’ ‘friendly,’ and ‘innovative’ were heard, which, as a Muscovite, was very pleasing. It means we are on the right track!” Sergey Ladochkin shared.
The second goal of the visit to the UAE is participation in the conference ‘The Potential of the Russian Diaspora in Modern Conditions: Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation,’ held from December 6th to 9th in Dubai. Among the participants are the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, and many others. The conference was opened by Sergey Cheryomin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow.
“The conference discussed political, economic, and cultural issues. There were many delegations from completely different countries – Spain, Japan, Turkey, Romania, and other countries with Russian communities. The conference discusses everything related to their activities, from historical events to modern realities, in various formats – discussion clubs, round tables, individual presentations with case studies, and much more,” shared Sergey Ladochkin.
