Engineers from the scientific production enterprise “Polet,” which is part of the “Roselectronica” holding of the state corporation “Rostec,” have created a unique antenna.

This was reported by the holding’s press service. The feature of this antenna lies in its unusual geometric shape. It can replace several antennas operating in different frequency ranges at once. In the case of ground-based use of the new antenna, it can replace several masts. The need for cables running from the radio station to the antenna will also decrease. Frequency-dividing devices are no longer needed.

According to the CEO of the Polet Scientific Production Enterprise, Alexey Komyakov, the use of this unique antenna will lead to a significant simplification of the entire ground-based antenna system and will also contribute to its reliability.

The ultra-wideband disc-cone antenna can be used in various fields: on test ranges, in ground-based complexes to provide communication, as well as in mobile radio measurement laboratories.

Earlier, it was reported that specialists from the Roselectronica holding had developed protection for equipment installed in military vehicles from electromagnetic radiation that causes harm.
