Medical experts confirm invention’s effectiveness.
The Maykop State Technological University (MSTU) in Adygea has been granted a patent by the Russian Federation for a wound-healing film developed by them. This film, crafted from pectin-collagen substances, has been endorsed for its medical efficacy by healthcare professionals in the republic, as reported by the university’s press service.
The patent was secured within the framework of an inter-university scientific project titled “Development and Clinical Testing of Wound-Healing Products, Preparations, Agents, and Materials Based on Biopolymers of Plant and Animal Origin.” This joint venture involves collaboration with the Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies (VSUET).
Conducted trials have demonstrated that the innovation ensures reliable wound isolation from the external environment. It cleanses the wound through the antibacterial and antioxidant properties of pectins, facilitates accelerated granulation tissue formation due to the presence of collagen, and boasts pain-relieving, disinfecting, and regenerative characteristics. Additionally, glycerin within the film composition enhances its pliability, enabling it to maintain integrity upon application.
