Experts from the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) have identified the countries with the most expensive visas for Russian citizens.
It turns out that visas to African countries are the most costly for Russians. For instance, a visa to the Republic of Congo costs about 25,000 rubles. Obtaining a visa to Equatorial Guinea is slightly cheaper at 17,700 rubles, according to ATOR.
The fee for an entry permit to the United States for the most in-demand visa is 16,300 rubles. A visa to the United Kingdom, which allows visits for six months, costs 13,000 rubles, while a ten-year visa costs 109,000 rubles. An Australian visa will set Russians back 11,300 rubles.
Previously, it was reported that the cost of a Schengen visa will increase to 90 euros or 8,600 rubles from June 11, 2024. However, this fee remains relatively low compared to other countries.
Experts also identified European countries that are relatively lenient in issuing visas to Russians. These include Italy, Spain, France, and Greece. Other EU countries are less accommodating and impose additional requirements for visa issuance. For instance, Germany requires Russians to present insurance purchased from German insurance companies and a bank statement from an account in a European financial institution.
