The average nominal monthly accrued salary in March 2024 exceeded 87,700 rubles, representing an annual increase of 21.6% and an 11.8% rise (9,300 rubles) compared to February, reports Rosstat.

Tatiana Ason, an associate professor at the Department of International Business of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, noted that the gap between supply and demand is forcing employers to raise salaries and offer flexible working conditions.

According to the expert, companies are unable to quickly train highly skilled personnel, which leads them to attract such workers with higher wages.

Ason emphasized that salary growth is currently being observed across all sectors. However, the increase in earnings for the highest-paid specialists has remained stable throughout 2023-2024. This includes employees in the oil and gas industry, programmers, and financiers. Salary increases in these sectors are causing a workforce shift, with workers moving from trade, services, and agriculture to manufacturing and construction.
