In the Kaliningrad Region, residents observed the Northern Lights

During the night of Monday, March 4, residents of the Kaliningrad Region witnessed the Northern Lights. This information was shared in the Telegram channel “Weather and Meteorological Events in the Kaliningrad Region.” It marks the first spectacular display of the Northern Lights in the region this year.

Despite the ongoing geomagnetic storm, there was an opportunity to see and photograph the lights when the sky was clear and there was no strong illumination over the northern part of the horizon.

The report notes that the past few days were unusually warm for the region. The average temperature from Friday to Sunday exceeded the climatic norm by 6-8 degrees, leading to the establishment of daily records at the meteorological stations in the region. However, it is too early to rejoice in spring; in the coming days, a gradual cooling is expected.
