The twelfth International Sports and Patriotic Action “Being Healthy is Trendy!” took place in 39 cities across Russia, Transnistria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Zambia. The main idea of the action is simultaneous mass water pouring from buckets painted in the colors of the national flag throughout Russia and other countries. On this day, participants also conduct educational activities and demonstration performances aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The main venue for the action this year was the square in front of the “Podmoskovye” House of Culture in Krasnogorsk. Cities from Sakhalin to Kaliningrad participated, connecting with Krasnogorsk through a telebridge.
As part of the action, participants performed various tasks and tested their skills. The platform provided opportunities for assembling and disassembling a machine gun, playing chess, checking medical skills on a mannequin, as well as testing strikes on a special dummy. Spectators could also warm up in a tent with a potbelly stove, enjoy tea, and hot buckwheat.
Singer Yaroslav Dronov (Shaman) performed the song “I am Russian” at the Krasnoyarsk venue, where a dance flash mob, the performance of the Russian Federation anthem, and pouring cold water were accompanied by energetic music and ribbon fireworks.
Celebrities participated in the action, including Mikhail Koklyaev, an eight-time Russian champion in heavyweight weightlifting over 105 kg, David Okpatuma from Nigeria, co-founder of the Africa cooperation initiative, and the creator of the action, Ilya Shadrikov. About 5,500 people across all participating cities took part in the water pouring. The youngest participant was a four-year-old boy, and the oldest was a man over 60.
