Nikita Chaplin, a State Duma deputy from the United Russia faction and a member of the Budget and Tax Committee, spoke to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” about the benefits available to families with children under 3 years old.
According to him, there are several types of government support available to such families, which will help improve their financial situation and ensure proper upbringing and development of children.
After the end of maternity leave, parents can take childcare leave for children up to 3 years old. Maternity benefits can be claimed by the mother, father, guardian, or adoptive parent. Such payments are provided until the child reaches 1.5 years old and depend on the salary for the last two years. In 2024, the minimum benefit amount will be 9,200 rubles, while the maximum will be 49,100 rubles, explained Chaplin.
He added that Russians can also apply for regional support measures, which complement the one-time childbirth allowance. To receive these measures, one of the parents and the child must be registered in the respective region.
Another important form of support is the increased maternity capital. For the first child, 630,000 rubles are paid, and for the second, 833,000 rubles.
At the birth of a child, the state compensates parents for some expenses. One of them can receive these funds, regardless of who goes on childcare leave. The size of the salary does not matter. From February 1, 2024, the payment will be 24,600 rubles per month, noted the deputy.
If the father of the child is serving on conscription, a monthly allowance for children under 3 years old is established at 16,700 rubles.
Chaplin also mentioned the possibility for families with a third or subsequent child to receive compensation for mortgage payments in the amount of 450,000 rubles.
