Angara-A5 undergoes electrical system checks
At the Vostochny Cosmodrome, specialists are conducting checks on the electrical systems of the first Angara carrier rocket.
According to Roscosmos, the assembly of the carrier rocket was completed last week. Specialists will perform a comprehensive set of checks simulating the Angara-A5’s flight mission, after which the rocket will be ready for installation with the space head.
It was previously announced that the first launch of the Russian heavy-class carrier rocket Angara-A5 from the Vostochny Cosmodrome is scheduled for March.
The Angara rocket family includes light models Angara-1.2, medium models Angara-A3, heavy models Angara-A5, and improved versions Angara-A5M and Angara-A5V with increased payload capacity. The uniqueness of Angara lies in its modularity.
The introduction of the Angara Carrier Rocket Complex into operation will allow Russia to launch spacecraft of all types from its territory and provide the country with independent, guaranteed access to space.
