Navigation for small vessels has opened in St. Petersburg. Pleasure boats and excursion transport will ply the rivers and canals of the city, including the Neva.
In St. Petersburg, water excursions usually start from docks along Palace Embankment, as well as on Fontanka Embankment, Moika Embankment, and Griboyedov Canal. There are over 50 tourist routes in the city, with those along the Bolshaya Neva being the most popular. These excursions attract special interest during the “Scarlet Sails” festival.
The Northern Capital boasts 76 docks, including 19 public city docks, 11 of which are equipped with video surveillance, notification, and control systems, as well as solar panels.
In July 2023, “Krestovsky Island” was added to the list of docks, serving as a stop for three new water routes connecting the Kirov Central Park of Culture and Leisure, the “Divo Ostrov” amusement park, Primorsky Victory Park on Krestovsky Island, and the 300th Anniversary Park of St. Petersburg.
Residents and guests of the Northern Capital can purchase tickets for a two-hour circular cruise or pay for the whole day with unlimited trips.
In 2023, around four million passengers used water transport.
