Russian scientists have created an innovative cellular test system for personalized medicine, which uses patients’ biomaterials to select more suitable drugs to fight cancer and other dangerous diseases.
According to researchers, this is particularly relevant for people with oncology. Moreover, the new test system will be effective in studying post-COVID syndrome.
The developed test system allows for the assessment of how cells respond to medicinal drugs, which is crucial for predicting the course of the disease and selecting appropriate therapy.
The key difference of this approach from other research methods lies in the ability to work with living cells and track their response to drugs, explained scientists from MIPT.
Considering the phenomenon of cellular aging and the consequences of viral diseases, the new test system helps determine the effectiveness of treatment and possible side effects, which is important for choosing optimal therapy.
