Russia will host an international Olympiad on climate change issues
Russia is set to host the International Olympiad on climate change and ecology for school students. Alexander Alimov, the Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Ties at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced this during a forum at the World Festival of Youth.
He noted that this year, students from various countries worldwide will test their abilities in the preliminary stage of the Olympiad. This will mark the first experience of organizing an international competition dedicated to climate change and ecology.
Alimov emphasized that many talented participants in the Olympiad could later become students at Russian universities. Furthermore, Russia provides numerous opportunities for education, including the chance to receive free education within the quotas of the Russian government.
