Russian Scientists Develop Special Attire for Children with Cerebral Palsy.
Special comfortable clothing for children with cerebral palsy (CP) has been officially patented in Russia. This clothing takes into account the issues related to disruptions in the musculoskeletal system, movement impairments, and the specific characteristics of the nervous system in children suffering from this condition. The developer discussed this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Children with cerebral palsy may have significantly different body shapes from the typical ones. Hence, there is a need for the development of clothing with higher ergonomic characteristics.
The suit was developed by specialists from the Institute of Arts at Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (NSPU) and the Novosibirsk Technological Institute (branch) of the A.N. Kosygin Russian State Technological University (RTU). It takes into account the morphological features of the bodies of children with cerebral palsy, providing both physical and psychological comfort, thereby improving their overall quality of life. The clothing is designed for everyday use.
