More than 80% of the territories in the new regions are covered by mobile communication.

The socio-economic development program for new regions in 2023 has yielded noticeable results. Its main achievements include coverage of more than 80% of the populated areas with mobile communication, the commissioning of about 1800 new base stations, connecting more than 2000 socially oriented facilities to the internet, and supplying computer equipment with domestic software to the new regions of the country.

According to research data, Russia ranks 6th among the leading countries in terms of internet accessibility, and the country’s internet user population exceeds 130 million people. More than 26 thousand populated areas with a population ranging from 100 to 500 people have access to the network.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that, at the President’s instruction, a Strategy for the Development of the Communication Industry until 2035 has been developed. It envisages the creation of a modern and secure global telecommunications infrastructure based on state-of-the-art technological solutions.
