Kuban Region Doubles Exports in 2023
The export of corn from the Kuban region doubled in 2023, reaching a total of 2 million tons of grain, which is twice as much as in 2022.
Corn shipments were destined for 15 countries, with major importers including Turkey, Libya, Vietnam, South Korea, and Lebanon. Turkey received the majority of the exported corn (76%). Additionally, nearly 50,000 tons of corn bran and almost 40,000 tons of corn distillers’ grains were exported from the Krasnodar Krai to Turkey. Furthermore, 5.6 tons of corn grits were exported to Canada, Israel, Georgia, and Armenia.
In 2023, Rostov Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, and Stavropol Krai emerged as leaders in grain production. The growth in yield was attributed to effective measures of state support and the presence of the necessary infrastructure for export potential.
