The date of the president’s inauguration has been announced in Russia

A source from the State Duma told RIA Novosti about the date of the Russian president’s inauguration, which is scheduled for May 7. According to the law “On the Elections of the President of Russia,” the inauguration takes place six years after the previous president took office. Recall that Vladimir Putin became president on May 7, 2018.

The presidential elections are set for March 17, with a three-day voting period from March 15 to 17. Early voting began in Russia on February 25 in remote and hard-to-reach areas, as well as on ships that will be at sea on the day of the elections.

Four candidates are vying for the presidency: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov, and Vladimir Putin.
