The number of vacancies for youth aged 14 and older increased sharply in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year, by 119%, more than doubling.

This was reported to “Izvestia” by the hh.ru service. In 2022, employers were willing to hire 14.5 thousand young employees with no prior work experience. In 2023, this figure rose to 42 thousand. And in the first quarter of 2024, there were announcements for 18 thousand such vacancies.

High demand for young workers is observed in almost all sectors of the Russian economy. The largest number of vacancies is recorded in areas such as transportation, logistics, sales, and services.

Industrial enterprises, construction companies, as well as companies operating in the real estate and sales sectors, are willing to hire university graduates without work experience. Young Russians are also often offered positions as couriers, promoters, salespersons, or cashiers.

According to experts, employers have turned their attention to young professionals due to the shortage of personnel. Currently, demand in the Russian labor market significantly exceeds supply. The unemployment rate in the country is decreasing. This is happening across all age groups.
