Additional heating points for the homeless have opened in the capital

Due to the cold weather arrival in Moscow, additional heating points were opened for homeless people. There are currently 14 such stations operating in Moscow, which provide about 700 places for simultaneous heating of the homeless. Warming centers are located near railway stations and branches of the social adaptation center.

In addition, new centers have appeared near the Savelovsky train station and Shchelkovsky bus station. At those locations, homeless people can receive first aid and support from specialists from the E.P. Glinka Center for Social Adaptation. The center provides a full range of social services to people in critical situations free of charge.

Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova asks citizens to be more attentive to the homeless and, if necessary, call the “Social Patrol”. This is a special team that provides assistance to homeless people: they can call an ambulance, guide those in need where free hot meals are provided, where they can take a shower, do the laundry, get warm clothes and temporary overnight accommodation.

During the cold season, Social Patrol intensifies its work on the main streets of the city, adding two additional patrol teams.
