New resorts will emerge in 9 regions of the country

Under the “Five Seas” program in Russia, plans are underway to establish new resorts capable of accommodating around 9 million tourists annually. The long-term project envisions the development of 10 modern resorts along the shores of five seas (Baltic, Azov, Black, Caspian, and Japanese) and Lake Baikal by 2030.

As part of the initiative, hotels with 74,000 rooms are set to be built, generating over 100,000 job opportunities. New tourist clusters will be established in various regions, including St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad Oblast, Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, Dagestan, Buryatia, Irkutsk Oblast, Primorsky Krai, and Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin also announced plans to create a new environmentally friendly year-round resort on Lake Baikal by 2030 as part of the “Five Seas” project.
