The Russian government has approved the concept for the development of the country’s intangible ethnocultural heritage until 2030. The project, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, aims to organize systematic work in identifying, preserving, and studying the intangible ethnocultural heritage.

According to the new concept, conditions will be created for the preservation, study, and popularization of traditional culture, including customs, rituals, traditions, holidays, folk tales, epics, songs, dances, and folk crafts. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation will be responsible for implementing the concept.

The document envisages the organization of systematic work, including methodological support for cultural, scientific, and educational institutions. The key aspects of the activity will include promoting the work of guardians of intangible cultural heritage and selecting and including unique examples of traditional culture in federal and regional registers.
