St. Petersburg Leads the World in Laser “Growing” of Large-Scale Products
At the St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University (SPbGMTU, also known as “Korabelka”), experts have achieved maximum precision in the application of laser printers for “growing” large-scale products required by high-tech industries.
The university’s rector, Gleb Turichin, emphasized that the developed additive technology of direct laser growing was a priority area of research, and as a result, no one else in the world can grow products with such dimensions, productivity, and precision as at “Korabelka.”
Turichin also noted that the university not only developed the process itself, starting from basic physics but also established mass production of the corresponding technological equipment.
