Device for Power Generation Patented in Yakutia

In Yakutia, a device for power generation in field conditions for the northern nomadic peoples has been developed and patented. The news was announced on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

The invention by scientists from the North-Eastern Federal University is a thermoelectric converter known for its compactness, mobility, reliability, and ease of use. According to the developers, this device has a significantly lower cost compared to analogs, as it does not require a stove; instead, a water container is placed above the hearth.

One of the advantages of the device is that the Peltier elements are attached to the pipe, not to the container itself, which is located above the fire. The placement of the U-shaped pipe at a distance from the hearth contributes to an increase in the service life of the elements and makes the device more efficient.

It is noted that the development was inspired by the lifestyle of the indigenous people of Chukotka, especially those living in yarangas and in need of reliable power supply.
