When considering their career choices, graduates of Russian schools most frequently prefer the field of IT technologies, according to a study conducted by the Superjob service.
Analysts found that 54% of ninth graders, who do not plan to continue their education in school, aim to enroll in secondary educational institutions. Meanwhile, 68% of eleventh graders intend to pursue higher education.
Among those aspiring to obtain a higher education, 26% plan to specialize in programming and IT technologies, 12% wish to pursue education in engineering, and 10% in fundamental or applied sciences.
Regarding those who plan to enroll in secondary educational institutions, 23% of them prefer IT specialties, 12% opt for pedagogy, and 11% for medicine.
The survey was conducted from April 1 to April 22, 2024. It involved 2,000 Russians from various regions of the country.
