Dr. Zuhra Pavlova, an endocrinologist at the Moscow State University clinic, stated on her Telegram channel that consuming several cups of coffee a day can increase your lifespan, especially if you spend at least 6 hours at a desk.
According to Dr. Pavlova, coffee can partially offset the harm caused by a sedentary lifestyle. Research by Chinese scientists has shown that abstaining from coffee while engaging in sedentary work is associated with an increased risk of death from all causes, particularly cardiovascular diseases.
Furthermore, studies have indicated that office workers who drank two to three cups of coffee a day had a 30% lower likelihood of sudden death from chronic diseases compared to non-coffee drinkers.
Dr. Pavlova highlighted that this effect is due to the high concentration of antioxidants in coffee, which combat cell oxidation, thereby mitigating the negative effects of prolonged computer use.
To maximize the benefits of coffee, Dr. Pavlova recommends consuming it an hour after meals. It’s best to enjoy this beverage without adding sugar, milk, or syrups.
