When looking to buy an apartment for their underage children, 90% of Russians consider the neighborhood as the starting point. Ekaterina Borisova, Development Director at Rariteco, told “Gazeta.Ru” that purchasing apartments in new buildings in central Moscow is the most advantageous investment in the long term.
For children under 14, Borisova recommends choosing apartments with an area of at least 80 square meters, featuring three bedrooms. These apartments can be resold to other families in the future.
For teenagers aged 14 to 18, it is advisable to let them choose their own housing, as it will likely become their first home. In this case, more compact apartments of 50-70 square meters, which are easier to maintain, are suitable.
Borisova noted that children under 14 cannot participate in the buying and selling process. All operations, including selecting the apartment and signing the contract, are carried out by their legal representatives: parents, adoptive parents, or guardians.
Teenagers aged 14-18 have the right to participate in transactions, choose housing, check the seller’s documents, and sign them. They are also entitled to sell or rent out their property with the permission of their legal representatives or guardianship authorities, Borisova concluded.
