Physiotherapist Kiran Sheridan is convinced that working in the garden and orchard not only helps burn calories but also strengthens muscles. In an interview with the Daily Mirror, he shared the secrets of effective physical activity in the garden.

According to the doctor, gardening provides good aerobic exercise for the muscles of the arms, legs, buttocks, back, and abdomen. In just 45 minutes of work in the garden, you can burn about 300 calories, and if you engage in digging beds or carrying bags of fertilizers, even more.

To achieve maximum results, Sheridan advised warming up before starting work in the garden. It is also important to diversify activities throughout the day and not limit yourself to just one type of work. Tasks should be alternated: digging beds, watering plants, weeding, clearing weeds, removing rubbish, and so on.

After completing all the work, it is essential to stretch the muscles, as this will help reduce pain and tension after working in the garden, concluded Sheridan.
