Andrey Tyazhelnikov, the chief external specialist in primary medical and sanitary care of the capital’s Department of Health, provided recommendations for Russians suffering from hypertension or hypotension.
Recall that this week in Moscow, an event called “baric saw” is expected. During this period, there may be significant fluctuations in atmospheric pressure—from 732 to 755 millimeters of mercury.
Tyazhelnikov noted in a comment to RIA Novosti that anomalous changes in atmospheric pressure can cause complications in people with both elevated and reduced blood pressure.
The expert advised hypotensive patients to increase fluid intake during these days and also to use herbal adaptogens and drink coffee in the morning if there are no contraindications.
For individuals prone to elevated blood pressure, Tyazhelnikov recommended avoiding tea and coffee, as well as excluding alcohol, salty, and spicy foods from their diet.
