The popularity of electric cars in Russia is not yet very high, but compact and trendy vehicles can already be seen on the roads, helping to minimize the negative impact on the environment. Eco-friendly transport is one of the main trends of recent years. Different cities are creating special programs for advantageous purchases of such cars, offering various benefits, and striving to create conditions for comfortable use of this type of transport.
Russian scientists contribute to this trend. Specialists from the Ural Federal University (UrFU) have developed charging stations of various capacities for electric cars. The uniqueness of the development lies in the fact that all its components are completely domestically produced.
The university explained that all the main components of the charging stations are made within the country. These include the main controller, power module, as well as the controller for power modules and contactors.
The first charging stations for cars with capacities of 90, 120, and 150 kW have already been put into serial production. In a few months, residents of Bashkortostan will be able to use them. In the future, it is planned to produce these devices on an industrial scale for the entire Russia.
