Elimination of Six Sites of Accumulated Harm

Project documentation is currently being developed for the removal of a landfill from a chemical production facility in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) and the burial of the former Gorlovka Chemical Plant in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR). Earlier, in the LNR, an area contaminated with waste near the settlement of Volcheyarivka was cleaned up.

A budget of 175 million rubles from the federal budget has been allocated for the development of project and estimate documentation (PED) for these two objects. In October 2023, the DNR and LNR signed corresponding agreements with the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, which allocated funds to the budgets of the republics.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, four sites will also be cleaned up, with 200 million rubles allocated for the development of PED. Agreements were concluded in late December 2023. In the Zaporizhzhia region, efforts will be made to address former landfills for solid household waste in Berdiansk and Vasylivka, while in the Kherson region, attention will be given to the former landfill for solid municipal waste in the settlement of Askaniia-Nova and treatment facilities in the settlement of Chaplynka.
