In the Kuzbass region, a technology for motion capture was tested as part of the rehabilitation of children suffering from cerebral palsy (CP).

Young scientists from the region proposed the development of rehabilitation programs for children with CP based on the analysis of their gait using motion capture technology. The methodology allows studying the specifics of motor function disorders, relying on biomechanical gait analysis, thus providing a more accurate assessment of symptoms and the development of effective rehabilitation programs.

Kuzbass Minister of Economic Development, Konstantin Pytchenko, expressed confidence that the proposed methodology would be successfully implemented in medical institutions in the region and could be used throughout the country.

The current treatment process for correcting the consequences of CP is based on visual examinations. The proposed project, developed by Anastasia Kazarina, utilizes a markerless gait analysis method. It involves analyzing key points located in various anatomical areas of the body to gain a more detailed understanding of the amplitude of various movements in the joints of the lower limbs. This approach allows detecting disorders that may go unnoticed during routine visual examinations.
