Stavropol Krai to launch its satellite this month

The company “Stilsoft” from Stavropol Krai will launch its first super-high-resolution satellite in December of this year. This announcement was made by the governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, during a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in Pyatigorsk.

According to the governor, the dream of manufacturing their satellites emerged a year and a half ago. And now it’s coming true—very soon, the first satellite, developed in partnership with China, will enter orbit. The satellite’s camera has a resolution of 0.5 meters (up to 50 cm per pixel). Thus, Stavropol’s first satellite will also be the first satellite in Russia with such high resolution.

The company plans to produce seven satellites by 2025. The governor emphasized that 95% of the project’s components will be Russian-made, leading to the opening of a specialized design bureau in the region.

High-resolution images will provide detailed information for both governmental and commercial organizations.
