Little panda Katyusha can now be seen in a large enclosure

Visitors to the Moscow Zoo can now personally meet Katyusha, the panda, in a spacious enclosure. This decision was made after the panda began to actively walk, play, and show greater independence. Starting from March 8th, the “Fauna of China” pavilion, where Katyusha resides, opened to the public. Previously, she was with her mother in a special room designed for childbirth and the first months of life.

Katyusha, born in August 2023, is the first panda in Russia’s history to be born in the country. Her parents, Dindin and Zhui, were gifted to Russia by China in 2019 as a sign of strong friendship between the two countries. The name was also chosen by the entire nation through a voting process. In the survey, in which nearly 400,000 people participated, the panda was decided to be named Katyusha.
