As reported by the newspaper “Izvestia,” the Russian counterpart to the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, named “Ruwiki,” is set to commence full-fledged operations from January 15.
“Ruwiki” brings together experts and regular users, allowing everyone to become an author, while material verification will be conducted exclusively by professionals. The beta version of the website has been available for reading since June 2023, and presently, there are over 1 million articles accessible in the Russian language.
Upon the launch of the complete version on January 15, several technological enhancements will be introduced. The website will feature personalized content, thematic compilations, audio and video retellings of articles, an updated user profile interface, as well as video content and podcasts.
