From April 2024, several new laws will come into effect in Russia, affecting many Russian citizens.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin shared this information on his Telegram channel.
More than 4 million pensioners will receive increased payments. This concerns those Russians who receive social pensions. It will be indexed by 7.5%.
Also, a law prohibiting the installation of “samovars” in apartment buildings will come into force. It was adopted taking into account numerous complaints from citizens.
Individuals who have been fined for drunk driving or have had their licenses revoked will not be able to take the driving exam and obtain driver’s licenses. They will be given this opportunity within a period ranging from 6 to 9 months after their previous attempt to obtain a license.
From April, renting out an apartment in apartment buildings will only be possible while observing the rights and interests of neighbors. This applies to both long-term and short-term rental of residential premises. Additionally, rented apartments must have meters.
Furthermore, from April 1, stricter requirements for the production and circulation of tobacco products and vapes will be introduced. In case of their sale without labeling or to a minor citizen, the fine may amount to one million rubles. The products will be confiscated.
