Starting September 1, 2024, MGIMO will introduce a new master’s program aimed at training specialists in the field of information warfare.

The program, named “Strategies of Information Influence in International Relations,” will prepare experts capable of devising comprehensive solutions for complex international political challenges using flexible tools, MGIMO representatives told RIA Novosti.

MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov emphasized that information influence is of significant importance in today’s highly turbulent geopolitical environment. These tasks are of enduring relevance.

The university also noted that unlike other programs, the training for information warfare specialists will be supervised by two academic leaders.

During the course, special emphasis will be placed on the practical training of future specialists. From the outset, students will have the opportunity to create products for information influence. They will be trained in countering disinformation, lobbying strategies, consulting on international political issues, open-source intelligence, analytical methods, and various negotiation techniques. The best Russian experts in this field will deliver lectures to the students.
