Medical Team Performs Unprecedented Surgery to Remove Shrapnel

Surgeons from the military group “West” successfully carried out a rare microsurgical operation to remove shrapnel from the carotid artery of a serviceman injured during the Strategic Command and Staff Exercise on the Kupyansk direction.

The injured soldier was brought to medical professionals with shrapnel wounds and severe injuries. One piece of shrapnel had penetrated his neck, posing a serious threat to his life. The doctors promptly initiated a complex microsurgical operation, which was successfully conducted due to their high level of professionalism. The shrapnel was completely removed, and the bleeding was stopped.

There is currently no cause for concern regarding the patient’s health; his condition is stable, and his life is no longer in jeopardy. This surgery is not an isolated case. The expertise and promptness of medical specialists enable them to save numerous lives of our fighters, both on the Kupyansk direction and in other areas.
