The minimum wage in Russia will rise by 15% in 2025, surpassing 22,000 rubles. Its value will be calculated based on the median salary prevailing in the labor market. By 2030, the minimum wage in Russia is expected to be at least 35,000 rubles.

This announcement was made by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a meeting with deputy prime ministers. He also addressed the issue of pension indexation for working pensioners. Mishustin emphasized that the process of reinstating pension indexation should proceed smoothly. Additionally, it is necessary to conduct informational work among working pensioners to ensure they understand the components of the amount they will start receiving.

Mishustin pointed out that working pensioners should be provided with the necessary conditions to continue their employment. Most of these pensioners are experienced specialists who are essential to the country’s economy.

The Prime Minister also warned that new terms for family mortgages must be implemented within the stipulated time frames. He reminded that President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), had instructed the launch of new preferential family mortgage programs starting July 1, 2024. This primarily concerns expanding the mortgage program with an interest rate of 6% per annum for families living in small towns, regardless of the age of their children.
