Nearly one in three Russians (29%) reported an increase in their work-related income over the past three months. This was reported by “Gazeta.Ru,” citing a study conducted by analysts from the Center for Social Analysis and Forecasting at the Presidential Academy’s Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service, Viktor Lyashok and Marina Lopatina.

Last year, this figure stood at 17%. In 2024, 29% of survey participants noticed a salary increase in February, and 23% in April.

Lyashok noted that at the end of last year and the beginning of this year, there was a rise in wages. However, there was also an increase in the level of dissatisfaction among citizens regarding future changes in pay. In April 2024, the proportion of those who expect their income to grow in the near future decreased to 20%, which is 4% lower than at the beginning of 2024.

Analysts attribute this to seasonal factors: Russians are more likely to expect salary increases in winter or autumn rather than in summer.
