The Russian military training aviation fleet will be upgraded with new aircraft models, according to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Industrial enterprises are developing new aircraft models to refresh the training aviation fleet, as announced by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The United Aircraft Corporation, part of Rostec, is currently working on the creation of two new training aircraft.
The first one is the Yak-152. The state joint trials of this aircraft were completed at the end of last year, confirming its main characteristics. The next step involves replacing imported components with Russian equivalents and conducting corresponding tests. Currently, the installation of a Russian engine on the aircraft is under consideration.
The second one is the MiG-UTS. The development of this training aircraft began at the end of last year. To expedite the process, existing developments, including the MiG-AT project, are planned to be used. The new aircraft is expected to use an engine that is also used in the Yak-130.
The currently used Yak-130 is produced and supplied as part of the state order. It is used for pilot training and allows them to be trained at the most modern level.
