A web application for professional networking among scientists has been launched in Russia.
New application providing a platform for finding academic supervisors and specialists for project teams. Developed by experts from the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNIPU), the tool analyzes the digital footprint of Russian scientists based on their publications.
According to university representatives, business networking in the scientific field will become more efficient thanks to the system utilizing artificial intelligence technologies. The application compares keywords and references in publications, books, and conference materials, identifying the degree of similarity in the activities of scientists and researchers.
Covering over 500 universities and research organizations in Russia, the system not only provides information about scientists’ profiles but also offers ways to connect with them. The application creates a visual map of connections between researchers and mutual acquaintances, facilitating a simpler and more effective search for professional contacts.
The system is planned to be available in two versions: an open version accessible via a browser and a closed version requiring authorization for the use of paid features. The closed version will have enhanced functionality, allowing users to build a map of competencies of scientists and educational institutions, along with a more flexible filtering system for an improved search experience.
