Direct Flights Expected to Boost Tourism Between Russia and Malaysia
Russia plans to establish direct flights to Malaysia, which will significantly increase the tourist flow between the two countries, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Dmitry Vakhrukov, stated in a comment to TASS.
Vakhrukov emphasized that the launch of direct flights between the nations is inevitable. He noted that Malaysia is a promising partner for Russia, with a large population in Asia, making the establishment of a tourist exchange crucial.
He mentioned that work is currently underway to address the logistical issues related to servicing Russian aircraft in Malaysia.
Several Russian airlines have already expressed their readiness to commence flights to Malaysia if the issues can be resolved promptly.
Last year, the number of Russian tourists visiting Malaysia increased to 100,645, marking a growth rate of 360% compared to 2022, when 21,878 Russian tourists visited the country, according to data from Tourism Malaysia.
