Gazprom has achieved a new historical record for daily pipeline gas deliveries to China. According to the company’s statement, the volume of deliveries via the Power of Siberia pipeline once again exceeded daily contractual commitments. This record was set after previous milestones on January 3rd and 2nd, following the increase in daily deliveries to a new level according to the 2024 contract.

The Power of Siberia pipeline supplies gas under a long-term bilateral agreement between Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

By 2025, the “Power of Siberia” pipeline is expected to reach its full export capacity of 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year. In the coming years, Gazprom’s total export volume to China is projected to reach 48 billion cubic meters of gas per year, thanks to the implementation of the project to supply gas via the Far Eastern route.

As stated by Gazprom’s CEO Alexey Miller, taking into account the transit pipeline through Mongolia, the export volume could reach nearly 100 billion cubic meters of gas per year. He also noted that China is considering the possibility of increasing gas supplies beyond the designed capacity of 38 billion cubic meters through the Power of Siberia, and emphasized that an agreement on this matter could be reached in the near future.
