Almost 60% of compatriots plan a two-week vacation this summer, with every fourth dreaming of a month-long break, according to a joint study by “Otello” and 2GIS.
Domestic tourism remains popular: 73% of Russians will spend their vacation traveling within Russia, 11% at home or at their dacha, and only 15% plan to go abroad.
Of those planning to vacation in Russia, 24% chose St. Petersburg. Other popular destinations include the Altai Mountains (20%), Lake Baikal (17%), Moscow and the Moscow region (16%).
Over 50% of Russians plan to stay in hotels: 26% will choose four-star accommodations, while 27% will opt for two- or three-star options. Approximately 19% prefer mini-hotels or unrated guesthouses. About 47% plan to rent an apartment or aparthotel, reports “Gazeta.Ru”.
Most compatriots (51%) plan to spend up to 60,000 rubles on accommodation. 15% of respondents budgeted up to 90,000 rubles, while 11% allocated over 150,000 rubles.
54% of respondents want to spend their vacation with family and children, 29% with their significant other, 10% with friends, and 7% alone.
Popular vacation destinations include the sea and museums. 13% of travelers chose the sea, while 12% opted for museums. Mountains, parks, and lakes also made the top list, at 9% each.
The most attractive natural attractions are Lake Baikal, the Black Sea, and the Altai Mountains. Among man-made attractions, Peterhof, the Moscow Kremlin, and the Hermitage are leading.
The most expensive destinations are the Altai Republic (average nightly cost of almost 8,000 rubles), as well as Moscow and the Moscow region (5,368 rubles). The highest average booking price is in St. Petersburg (25,600 rubles), while the lowest is in Moscow (18,400 rubles).
