Russian companies continue to transition to domestic software. If just two years ago there were no more than 30% of such companies, by the end of 2024 their share will exceed 50%.

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin announced this during his speech at the plenary session of the IX Conference “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia.” He noted that in some industries, this transition is being carried out quite successfully. He mentioned companies operating in the oil and gas sector, as well as in the electric power industry, mechanical engineering, and aerospace industry. However, pharmaceutical and shipbuilding enterprises are currently lagging behind.

Mishustin also mentioned a significant increase in sales of domestic software. Over the past four years, they have nearly doubled, and sales of packaged solutions have increased fivefold.

He also reminded that the Russian government continues to support the IT sector. Such companies can benefit from preferential profit tax rates, as well as reduced insurance contribution rates. There are also benefits for employees of IT companies.

Earlier, Alexander Khinshtein, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, expressed confidence that the IT industry of our country can create innovative and high-quality products. Thanks to this, the Western sanctions pressure will gradually diminish.
