The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) has proposed to decrease the pension age for mothers of multiple children. The corresponding draft law has already been introduced to the State Duma.
The current pension legislation provides certain benefits for women with children. For instance, Russian women who have given birth to five or more children are eligible for a pension at the age of 50 with 15 years of insurance experience.
Women with four or three children can retire at 56 and 57 years old, respectively, with 15 years of insurance experience.
The draft law proposes to set the pension age for women with four children at 52 years old, and for those with three children at 54 years old, provided they have 15 years of insurance experience by that time.
It is worth noting that early retirement is also available to other categories of citizens. Specifically, men with 42 years of work experience and women with 37 years of experience can retire early. Residents of the Far North have the right to retire 5 years earlier than the general requirements, provided they have 15 years of experience (20 years for equivalent districts).
